Description
Bali Blue is named after the bluish-grey color of coffee beans from this area. This unique characteristic is the result of Giling Basah, the wet-hulling process and the natural drying methods used in Bali.
Giling Basah is a coffee processing method where the outer layers of the coffee cherry are removed before the bean is dried, resulting in a lighter, more acidic coffee compared to the dry-hulled method.
The bulk of Bali’s coffee is grown in the lush mountains of Mount Agung’s Kintamani highlands, where the with unique volcanic soil and microclimate contributes to the unique flavor profile of Bali Blue Coffee.
Bali Blue is grown by small family-owned farms where each producer uses a few acres to cultivate coffee along with citrus trees.
